I painted TUB PAINTING, full title: ME IN THE TUB TWO OR TOO during my expressive art period. It is an oil painting on hardboard. The theme is me in a tub full of water.
Tub Painting
It was created during my expressive to postmodernist art or postmodernism period. At that time I was transferring my style from expressive to one that is more purified.
The painting was not inspired by or based on photo. It was created entirely in my imagination. I got an inspiration and the complete vision of how the whole painting will look like in no more then one second.
It was a time when I was wearing sapphire blue contact lenses. I think I was the first person in Balkans at the beginning of 1990’s who wore them. My father was famous ophthalmologist. On one occasion I discovered some 
prospectus about changing the color of the eyes with colored contact lenses. I was fascinated. The natural color of my eyes is hazel, but it was fun to change their color into sapphire blue. The new lenses were so extraordinary and adorable. Many people also found them attractive. Some thought they were bizarre, though. One person, a colleague, was convinced that I was from another planet, and he was serious.
My fluorescent sapphire blue contact lenses were an initiative impulse for me to create the painting TUB PAINTING.
I combined that intensive blue color of my eyes with my fair complexion and black color of my hair. Then I added deep, deep blue color of water in the tub, and black and white pattern of the bathroom ceramic floor. Only the floor was transformed into a black and white dog-tooth pattern. I needed some accents and I painted my lips covered with red lipstick. I also painted red nail polish on my fingers and my toes.

Tub Painting Versions
I was satisfied with both the imaginary scene and the final result on the painting. The painting was created by combining several symbols and it became a new symbol itself. It could exist in monumental size, for example, on billboards. It could also exist in minimal size, for example, as thumbnail for computer image. In both versions it can be fully comprehended and everybody could easily relate to the content of the ME IN THE TUB TWO OR TOO or TUB PAINTING.
