Still Life

Still Life is a study drawing, a segment of my art work and a part of traditional art technique category. The study is created in 1989, when I was a first grade student at the Academy or Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Drawing studies was a part of a first grade studies program. It was created in a charcoal on natron paper technique, and its dimensions are 150×178 cm.

Oil Paintings

I created oil paintings in my different art periods. This is traditional technique that is still superior. I love this technique; it is one of my favorites. I like this effect of traditionalism on oil on canvas artworks. It feels like recognizing some delicious spices from good old days. In fact, the best moment of our life is, without doubt, this particular moment, now. But, nostalgia is so cute. For me, painting in oil is like using a time machine. For some of my creative ideas this is very suitable. For example, idea that time is non-linear, and that I can reverse the time. But, I also use other artistic techniques.

Acrylic Paintings

I created acrylic paintings in some of my art phases. I like this technique for several reasons, and one of them is that I don’t have to wait for paint to dry to proceed with art work. The creative process can remain uninterrupted. Acrylics are great for flat textures that I paint. Another advantage is that they are diluted with water, a medium that is not so toxic like turpentine medium for oils. Although acrylics are water-based, once they are dry, they become water-resistant ad can not be removed from a canvas.

Yin Yang

The watercolor painting Yin Yang belongs to traditional art media category and this is a part of my art work. The theme of artwork is a double portrait of a female and a male. More precisely, live models represent my husband Ivan and me when we were a boyfriend and a girlfriend and were still students, some time ago ;).
