Talking about artist, me, Aleksandra Smiljkovic Vasovic, is impossible outside the context of constant overlap between art and my life. I never stop observing through the eyes of an artist. I mean, I always observe everything with full awareness.
I am absolutely convinced that every moment is amazing and miraculous. I observe myself and everything inside me and around me with joy, admiration and passion. This is me. I express myself in a various forms of art in both traditional and new media techniques.
More about artist – everybody can enjoy like artist do
You don’t need to be an artist to experience the same excitement and beauty all the time. Nothing can prevent anybody to be fully aware of every moment of life. Artists do not need to work traditional office hours, and they can work on their art all the time. But, there are many professions that need to be done in traditional working hours schedule. Everybody who is honestly dedicated to his or her vocation, family, hobby, friends is no different then an artist. Because this is how you experience the magnificent flow of life force. And of course, you can always enjoy watching the beautiful work of art as a bonus.
About artist and artistic soul
I feel like I am in a meditative state almost all the time. I feel peaceful and balanced. For me, this is a natural state of being. Of course, there are frustrating and unpleasant, even frightening situations and circumstances that can push me out of balance and harmony. Luckily, I can regain my stability pretty quickly. I think this is not so unusual about artist. I am not perfect. My favorite story is “The Emperor’s New Clothes” by Hans Christian Andersen and the problem is that I just can’t keep my mouth shut and I cry as loud as I can: “But he isn’t wearing anything at all!” There is nothing that can stop me whatsoever. Luckily again, I often transform this enormous amount of energy into the divine language of visual art. So, art can shout out loud the truth.
Everything can become art
Again, there is one think that is true about artist, and that is that for artist life is an artwork. If you enjoy doing something very much, so much that it brings you the peace of mind and happiness, then you are in the state of meditation or art. This is a healing state of being.
Art is fun for me
Above all, art is fun. It is so adventurous when artists are bohemian, vagabonds, unorthodox and immune to the chains of the materialistic world. They are free and openhearted as a child. But, they are absolutely devoted to art, life and truth, they are sincere and diligent. I am all of that, except, I eat healthy food, rarely drink alcohol, I don’t smoke cigarettes or use drugs etc. I practice meditation and yoga, enjoy sports, love martial arts, walking in the nature. Pyrotechnics and special effects are necessary in Hollywood, but art is different. They can’t be of help if the essence of art, inspiration, is missing. And I always create my art, not only on canvas, paper or computer, but also and all the time in my heart and in my mind, when I am asleep or awake, sad or happy.

Art is fun, but also it is a very serious affair. You have to work very hard and be determined in order to flourish your talent and gift.
I remember how I was flourishing when I graduated from both Art and Architecture.
I still live in Serbia, but, like the rest of the planet, I live in a global virtual world of information flow and infinite potential, in third dimension of time and space reality, simultaneously coexisting in indefinite number of other dimensions. As an artist, maybe I am just a little bit more familiar with them.
