Art and sport connectivity is sometimes a theme of my artwork.
More precisely, the connection between art and sports is something that enriches my art. But sport is also an important element of my life.
I am note merely a sport fun that enjoys watching sports events. I also like to be active, to be engaged in sports, yoga or martial arts.
Motifs and Inspiration
Various sport activities or athletes were inspiring for me to create artworks. I draw athletes’ figures in their energetic motion, while being engaged in their sport…or I just painted sport playgrounds, or sport requisites, like ball, tennis rocket. Sometimes sport’s wear was interesting for me as a motive.
And above all, the sport’s spirit is what I adore, its activity, and energy.
Tennis and My Art
I am Serbian and I adore our Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic.
But there were tennis players that I also adored before Novak Djokovic had became so phenomenal and successful. For example, Monika Seles is tennis star that I adored during nineties. And I also adored other tennis players which were active playing during this era. That’s why I created drawings about tennis players, tennis playgrounds – terrains, balls, rockets. I was amazed with the postures, gestures and expressions of players while hitting the ball, playing forehand, backhand, serves. I came upon some very interesting and funny, exceptional photos of eminent tennis players at some sports magazine. I was inspired to create drawings based on those photos.
Those were photos and drawings of Monika Seles, Gabriela Sabatini, Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Jennifer Capriati and Yannick Noah.
I also created drawings about tennis terrains, tennis rockets, and balls.

Art and Sport Relation, or, Football (Soccer) and My Art Work
I think it was the same sports magazine where I found some interesting pictures about European football. So, my drawings were inspired with this theme, too. But, honestly, I am not football fun. Watching a football match for a few minutes is my limit.

Basketball and my Art Work
Basketball is also OK.
Long time ago, while I was watching NBA tennis matches on TV, I was just mesmerized with the playgrounds. I adored colors, design, lines and I was inspired to create large acrylic paintings with those terrains as my motive. Players were invisible for me. I was focused on terrains’ appearance. While observing those terrains, and later, when initial sketches were prepared, I looked for the names of those basketball teams because I didn’t know who was playing, actually. And I found out the following teams were playing: Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers and others.
Some of the painting’s names match the names of those teams.

Sport in My Art
Obviously, although the sport was the inspiration for me to create those artworks, I was not just drawing some kind of illustrations.
And, of course, they are available for sale, ask for more info here.
Those artworks exist autonomously. They are not just commercials that promote sport. They are dedicated to indicate the significance and magnificence that both fields contain…both art and sport are really magnificent.
